OvenHero stores recipes, projects, and baking history primarily on your device. Additional CloudKit data may be processed for community features such as Explore or published recipes.

Purposes of processing

Processing is used to provide app features, synchronize published content, analyze issues, and improve OvenHero.

  • Providing recipe management, bake mode, history, and bake logs
  • Synchronizing and displaying published Explore content
  • Handling Pro purchases and restoring unlocks
  • Processing support requests
  • Analyzing stability, usage, and product improvements

Legal bases

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for functions required to provide the app or fulfill contractual services.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for legitimate interests in security, stability, abuse prevention, and product improvement.
  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where you voluntarily publish additional content or use optional features.

Recipients and service providers

Data is only shared to the extent necessary for the respective functions.

  • Apple / CloudKit for published content, Explore features, and related cloud data.
  • Notion for support tickets when you use the website support form.
  • Apple handles payment processing for in-app purchases; payment data itself is not processed directly by OvenHero.

Retention period

  • Local recipe, project, and history data stays on your device until you delete it.
  • Published Explore content is stored as long as it remains published or technically required.
  • Support requests are kept as long as necessary for processing and documentation.
  • Technical statistics or diagnostic data are retained only as long as needed for stability, analysis, and product improvement.

Transfers to third countries

If service providers process data outside the European Union or EEA, this is done only on the basis of appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
